Here is a sample of how I design a wedding album. Technically, you can get about 60 images into a 40 page album. That is 20 sides and 40 pages. If you put one large and 4 small, then you can get 20 x 5, however, some pages (the ones with the special shots), you want to take up the entire spread with; or at least one page. So, I always ask for 60, sometimes need more and sometimes use less.
An album should tell a story. When you are choosing your shots, take about 10 from the beginning of the day - 5 for you and 5 for your partner. Then 10 from the arrival and ceremony; another 10 from the groups and drinks/canapes and 10 from the romantics and evening. This should give you a storybook feel and the book will flow better.
Here are a few cuts from a recent design of a wedding album. This is the Young Album made by Graphistudio Albums which is made from silk, comes in a box and is A4 in size. Very popular in 2014/5. This wedding was the pastels wedding from Crouchers Hotel which is another venue that is popular with smaller weddings in the West Sussex area.
I use a clean and modern approach to wedding album design. No fuss, no fluff and NO fuzzy areas!
You can also choose, smooth, photographic, metallic which gives a 3D effect or gloss (not my favourite although it shows colours vibrantly.). The album cover can be acrylic (looks like glass), leather, leatherette (hardly different from leather apart from the smell!), and the Young Book which is silk and many other covers. These come in most colours.

Petworth House LOVE IN - engagement shoot for the loved up couple
We had 45 minutes to rush around take these shots. How easy! What a lovely couple and what a great laugh. So many places. I LOVE Petworth House ... and so did Pam and David.
They will be married at Southend Barns in May 2015 and so they should. I couldn't see any other couple more in love that these two.
When I pulled up and looked up to the steps, they were snogging AND I wasn't even there taking pictures. Fancy that .. snogging for no reason whatsoever. Must be love ...

Wedding Photographer at Crouchers Hotel Chichester
Caroline and Simon married a few weeks back at the Crouchers Hotel which is a rural yet close to town wedding venue in Chichester. It offers fields and beautiful views, but is still local to town and the beach. They have award winning chefs and the food is to die for. The team at Crouchers know how to look after wedding parties big and small. They have a great sized room on the side for a disco and the outside is accessible for summer weddings allowing guests to go from one room to another.
